SEAPEX VIETNAM FIELD TRIP, 22 - 25 MARCH 2012

Fractured Basement Reservoir Along the Coast of South Vietnam

The objectives of this fieldtrip will be to give participants an overview of the reservoir plays of the South Coast of Vietnam by visiting outcrops that demonstrates part of the elements of the petroleum system analogue to the offshore Cuu Long basin. There will be opportunities to review several episodes of structural deformation leading to fractured reservoirs.

The trip will start in Ho Chi Minh City and continuous to the coast at Vung Tau, Phan Thiet and then Phan Rang. After that we will head towards the west to get back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Thursday 22 March 2012:
HCMC-Vung Tau-Phan Thiet, Visit outcrops No, 1, 2 and 3. Stay overnight in Phan Thiet.

Friday 23 March 2012:
Phan Thiet- Phan Rang, Visit outcrops No. 4, 5. Stay overnight in Phan Rang

Saturday 24 March 2012:
Phan Rang - Phan Thiet. Visit outcrops No. 6, 7, 8 and 9. Stay overnight in Phan Thiet.

Sunday 25 March 2012:
Phan Thiet - HCMC. Visit outcrop No.10

SEAPEX TECHNICAL FORUM / FARMOUT FORUM, FRIDAY 13 APRIL 2012

SEAPEX will host an afternoon Technical/Farmout Forum on Friday 13th April 2012 at Orchard Hotel, Singapore.  This will be held after the Singapore Scout Check and will continue in place of the normal SEAPEX evening meeting.

The Technical Forum will feature up to 8 presentations that will concentrate on key global technology achievements that will affect future hydrocarbon exploration.  There will be no requirement for South East Asia examples.

The Farmout Forum, will comprise of a farmout poster panel exhibition area where companies can promote farmout opportunities and discuss them with potential investors.

The Technical Forum will start at 14:00 hrs after the Singapore Scout Check Meeting and close at 18:30 hrs, and will be followed by the usual SEAPEX networking session where an open bar and refreshments will be provided throughout the evening. The Farmout Forum will continue until the end of the evening.

Registration to attend the Technical/Farmout Forum will be open to SEAPEX Members only in accordance with Singapore regulations, and will start at 1330 hrs. The registration fee for the event will be S$40 and this includes tickets for 4 drinks.  Non-members will be welcome to join as a Member at the registration desk.

Call for Technical Forum Papers

We invite all companies that have an interest in giving a talk at the Technical Forum to submit an abstract to SEAPEX for consideration. The talks may cover all technologies available to explore for hydrocarbons worldwide.  Presenters will be encouraged to publish full papers in SEAPEX Press after the Forum.

We request presenters to contribute a sponsorship of S$500 to assist with event costs.  Please note that the individual registration fee of S$40 will still apply.

Call for Farmout Forum Posters

We invite all companies that have an interest in reserving a poster panel slot at the Farmout Forum to submit a request, providing details of the asset(s) to be farmed out.  Poster space will be 3 meters wide and 2 meters high and should be manned by a Company representative to field attendees’ questions.  Farmout Poster exhibitors are encouraged to submit their presentations in PDF format beforehand. We will also post the farmout presentations onto the SEAPEX farmin opportunities website.

The fee for each Farmout Forum space will be S$1,500 per company.  The individual registration fee of S$40 will still apply.

Every year SEAPEX allocates a portion of its budget for Discretionary Spending to support educational, philanthropic and other causes and activities that advance the objectives of our society.  A summary of SEAPEX's Discretionary Spending for the 2010-2011 fiscal year was presented at the AGM in October 2011.  This summary report can be accessed via the SEAPEX website.  Members are also being asked to submit ideas for deserving causes and activities for Discretionary Spending for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.  If you have any questions about or ideas for the use of SEAPEX's Discretionary Spending, please contact Bill Lafferrandre (bill.g.lafferrandre@conocophillips.com).
