NO SOLLICITING

In mid August most SEAPEX members received an email of introduction from a Company whose Director is a SEAPEX Member. Whilst the Company concerned had not been given the members list by SEAPEX they had, as any Member can, obtained members details through the Membership database on the SEAPEX website.

Members are respectfully reminded that such a practice, essentially of sending out email advertisements to the SEAPEX membership, is strictly forbidden. We have the SEAPEX Press which amongst other things provides a cost effective means to promote companies’ capabilities to the membership and we would encourage its use for this purpose.

The Member concerned had not understood he had acted inappropriately and has apologised which has been duly accepted. Having said that, the SEAPEX Council and Officers are concerned there should be no repetition of violations of this kind and as a consequence have determined that any such recurrences of this practice will result in termination of membership to SEAPEX.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
